Andrew Jayne and Cartel Clinch the $40,000 Paso Fall Classic Grand Prix
Andrew Jayne and Maplewood Stable’s homebred Cartel topped an impressive field in the $40,000 Fall Classic Grand Prix on November 2 in Paso Robles, California.
The duo jumped double clear and no one could catch their winning time as they picked up their second Grand Prix victory of the year, both at the Paso Robles Horse Park.
“Great class and great show! Thanks show manager Mandi Diefenderfer for making everything so special!” said trainer Julie Winkel.
The gray, 13-year-old Rheinland Pfalz Saar gelding is by Cartouche Z, a stallion Julie and her son, Kevin, both rode to success in the Grand Prix ranks before he retired to stud.
Andrew also placed 12th aboard the Maplewood homebred Outlier by Osilvis with a speedy jump-off but an unfortunate rail.
