provisional horsemanship program

Maplewood offers a unique immersion program for high school students who wish to explore the opportunities available in the Horse Industry Training Program.

The program, available during the summer and over school breaks, allows high school students to explore the HITP curriculum. We accept students on a first-come, first-served basis as space is available.

The students may stay a minimum of two weeks and up to six weeks, with customized time frames available. The high school students follow the 8:30 a.m. to end-of-day schedule that our HITP students do, with many of the same tasks and learning opportunities, such as daily riding, grooming, lectures, setting fences, watching lessons, taking lessons, etc.

If the opportunity arises, some of our students also attend horse shows or observe and participate in on-site clinics taking place at Maplewood.

The cost of the Provisional Program is $1,500/month or $500/week with a minimum of a two-week stay. To begin the registration process, please fill out the form below.

Payment may be made by check to: Maplewood Inc., 425 W. Laramie Dr., Reno, NV 89521 or via PayPal (below) for a small convenience fee.
