It Means So Much to Get Great Feedback
As a clinician, I travel the country many weeks of the year to teach and educate riders, trainers and parents. It’s so rewarding to receive positive feedback, and I just had to share this past weekend’s Facebook messages from my clinic at Alpine Farms in Michigan!
Thank you Rebecca Bradley for hosting elite level judge, breeder, rider, coach, and educator Julie Winkel for the fifth consecutive year at your Alpine Farms over the weekend. It takes a lot of work to promote and produce a clinic and those who do it are to be commended for bringing people together for the sake of learning and professional growth.
It was a real treat for me to sit outside amidst riders, parents, and trainers watching horse-and-rider pairs while words of wisdom, affirmation, and discovery washed over me in the fresh spring air. In a brief visit with Julie, we agreed that one of the coolest things about teaching clinics is getting to see horse and rider combinations change and evolve from year to year. A new wrinkle for me after decades of riding in and auditing clinics, I enjoyed sitting with former student-now-colleague Melissa Kalmink watching her students ride in the clinic. Safe travels and happy trails everyone. — Linda Parkhurst
Oh my goodness! I had SOOOOO much fun this weekend at the Julie Winkel clinic at alpine ridge farms ! I learned so much and I had a blast on a horse that I had never ridden before but ended up being the most PERFECT! Thanks Melissa Kalmink for making it all happen!💓 I will never forget this experience and I cannot wait to (hopefully, if I’m home from college) go back next year! And thanks to my mom, Sheila Marie Contreras, for spending Mother’s Day with me at the clinic! - Noor Hassan-Contreras
Team DVE had an awesome weekend filled with lots of riding and learning. Thank you Julie Winkel for sharing your wisdom to make us all better riders and horsemen. Also shout out to Rebecca Bradley for hosting us this weekend!! Everyone is already looking forward to next year. - Melissa Kalmink
Lilly and Ellie had a fabulous clinic this Mother’s Day weekend with Julie Winkel! We are so fortunate to be able to absorb, grow, and apply the incredible amount of knowledge Julie has to share with us as we continue our journey on being better horsemen and humans. Thank you Julie!!!!💜 Thank you Rebecca Bradley and Alpine Ridge for hosting and all that you do! — Kimberlee Beeson
Never a boring clinic with Julie Winkel. She started with working on proper lead changes in the first group and then built on different types leg yields in the second session, to proper control of the horse through trot jumps and lighter horses in the third session. — Rebecca Bradley
